Bridge Card and Nexus Companion Card

Find out about the Nexus Companion Card which lets you take someone with you free of charge when you travel on buses in Tyne and Wear, County Durham and Northumberland. It’s available to residents of Tyne and Wear who receive certain allowances and are not able to travel without a companion.  Follow the link and find out more

Hospital Discharge WG Update

The Gateshead LINk Hospital Discharge Working Group met this morning to discuss a range of issues. They included the ongoing progress of the Gateshead LINk Hospital Discharge Questionnaire which we are having a great response to after its distribution via the Gateshead Health NHS Trust Foundation membership magazine. Keep an eye out for updates on the findings on the Gateshead LINk wesbite and progress on how overiding issues identified during this process are being taken forward by Gateshead LINk. The group is also looking into how patients’ discharge is being handled from a local authority perspective and how patients are supported after discharge by Local Authority services. Minutes of this meeting will be available to view online after ratification at next meeting. Thanks to all who attended last week’s Annual Event at the Gibside Hotel in Whickham. Over 80 people attended, receiving feedback on the work of Gateshead LINk over the past year and discussing the future of the LINk.
